The Le Roy Oatkan Knights will square off against the Dansville Mustangs at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday. Le Roy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.2 runs per game this season.
Le Roy barely beat Waterloo the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Oatkan Knights put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 12-2 win on Saturday. The Oatkan Knights haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Austin Cordaro made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brady McClurg, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Jake Higgins was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Le Roy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Dansville suffered their closest loss since April 9th on Friday. They fell just short of Hornell by a score of 6-4. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Dansville saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cam Delaney, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
Le Roy's win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-3. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Dansville, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Sunday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Le Roy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Dansville struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went Le Roy's way against Dansville when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Le Roy made off with a 19-9 win. Do the Oatkan Knights have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
