Reece Remus was his usual excellent self, going 11 for 15 on his way to 28 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. Those 28 points gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Schmitt, who posted ten points and four steals.
Lakeside smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Pike Valley was able to grind out a solid win over Peabody-Burns on Friday, taking the game 66-57. With that victory, the Panthers brought their scoring average up to 51.1 points per game.
Pike Valley's win came from a few key players Lakeside will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Andrew Cooper, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 boards. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 15.9 points per game. Another player making a difference was Ezra Benne, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 17 points and eight rebounds.
Pike Valley has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 3-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points per game. As for Lakeside, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Lakeside has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 29.2 rebounds per game.
