The City View Mustangs will take on the Brady Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. City View knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Brady likes a good challenge.
City View is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed past Valley View to the tune of 56-13 on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won six in a row.
City View's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Malachi Williams, who threw for 116 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only six passes.

Another reason for the win was City View's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Jayden Bradford was especially locked on to Valley View's QB and sacked him twice. Bradford has been hot for a while, having also posted seven or more total tackles the last 11 times he's played. Matthew Whiteside was another major factor on D, making eight total tackles (2.0 for loss) and snagged an interception which he returned one-yard for a touchdown.
Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 14 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Whiteside, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Brady's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They and Clifton were almost perfectly matched up, but the Bulldogs suffered a 7-6 loss. The contest marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.
Brady didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Benjiman Valdez led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself.
Brady's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 7-3. As for City View, their win bumped their record up to 8-2.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. City View has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 183.6 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Brady struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 332 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground. Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other football content.
