The Gibbon Buffaloes's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 45-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of Ravenna. Gibbon has not had much luck with Ravenna recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Gibbon's loss came despite strong showings from Brooke Sell and Carla Murillo-corona. Sell scored four points along with eight rebounds and five blocks, while Murillo-corona scored ten points. Cove Fries was another key contributor, scoring five points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Gibbon has not been sharp recently as the team has lost 11 of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-17 record this season. As for Ravenna, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-16.
Gibbon's road trip will continue as they head out to face Arcadia/Loup City at 6:30 p.m. on February 12th. Hopefully Gibbon focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Thursday. Ravenna does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
