Skyline is 3-0 against Waxahachie since November of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Skyline Raiders will be home for the holidays to greet the Waxahachie Indians at 7:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
The third road game was the charm for Skyline, as they earned their first road win of the season. They really took it to Mansfield for the full four quarters, racking up a 58-26 victory on the road. Given Skyline's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 125th, while Mansfield is ranked 502nd), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Skyline got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Tamya Whitemon out in front who scored 18 points. That's the first time this season that Whitemon scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Brown, who scored nine points along with seven assists and five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Waxahachie had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They breezed by Pinkston at home to the tune of 70-22. That 70-22 margin sets a new team best for Waxahachie this season.
Skyline has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-8 record this season. As for Waxahachie, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-5.
Skyline strolled past Waxahachie in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 48-29. Will Skyline repeat their success, or does Waxahachie have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
