After flying high against the Marshall Rams last Saturday, the Madison Mavericks came back down to earth. Madison took a 53-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lee on Wednesday. Madison was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Lee apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.
When it comes to explaining why Madison lost, one person who can't be blamed is Caden Cooper. Despite the final result, he scored 19 points along with five steals. Another player making a difference was Evan Moreno, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
Madison's loss dropped their record down to 22-13. As for Lee, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 22-11.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Johnson the next time they take the court. Lee will head out to face Johnson at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, while Madison will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
