Briar Thoe was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Indian Trail saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cade Minatto, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, Mukwonago never let their opponents score on Friday. They put the hurt on Waukesha South with a sharp 10-0 win. That ten run margin sets a new team best for the Indians this season.
Easton Ahrens looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
On the hitting side, Adam Kudronowicz was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Arnold, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Mukwonago kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Waukesha South only managed four hits.
Mukwonago pushed their record up to 16-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.4 runs over those games. As for Indian Trail, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-9.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Indian Trail has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Mukwonago struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 2.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
