Basketball Recap: Powers Catholic's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Powers Catholic won the last time they faced Flushing and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Powers Catholic Chargers walked away with a 69-59 victory over the Flushing Raiders. The Chargers' win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Powers Catholic's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jesse Cull led the charge by dropping a double-double on 17 points and 13 boards. Cull's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Caldwell, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 16 points and three steals.

Powers Catholic's record now sits at 4-0. As for Flushing, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Powers Catholic will host Notre Dame Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Powers Catholic is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 68 points per game this season. As for Flushing, they will welcome Linden at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Linden knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Flushing likes a good challenge.
