The Ocracoke Dolphins's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight defeat. They were outmatched by Hobgood Charter on the road and fell 48-4. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Ocracoke has scored all season.
Janiya Blanding went supernova for Hobgood Charter, scoring 13 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kinsey Peel, who scored four points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Ocracoke dropped their record down to 1-12 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 12.4 points per game. As for Hobgood Charter, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ocracoke will take on the Lakers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mattamuskeet comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 23 points in their last ten games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Hobgood Charter, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Hurricanes at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cape Hatteras is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
