If the Hardee Wildcats were feeling good off their 55-12 takedown of the Oasis Christian Lions on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Hardee received a tough blow on Thursday as they fell 36-21 to Lake Placid. Having soared to a lofty 55 points in the game before, Hardee couldn't push the score so high this time.
Despite the loss, Hardee had strong showings from Alexandra Jackson, who scored seven points along with five steals, and Jazlynn Jones, who scored ten points. Those ten points set a new season-high mark for her.
Antranique Felton was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on ten points and 16 rebounds for Lake Placid. The contest was Felton's fourth in a row with at least ten points.
Hardee bumped their record down to 1-3 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 22.5 points per game. As for Lake Placid, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hardee will face off against DeSoto County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. DeSoto County will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line. As for Lake Placid, they will head out on the road to face off against Fort Meade at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
