The Roosevelt Roughriders will be home for the holidays to greet the Bard Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Roosevelt pushed their score all the way to 61 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 65-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. Charles.
Jawuan Carter put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 22 points along with five steals. That's the first time this season that he scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Richard Hall, who scored ten points along with eight steals.
Even though they lost, Roosevelt were working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. Charles only racked up seven assists.
Meanwhile, Bard's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Parkside, falling 83-42.
Roosevelt's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Bard, they have fallen quite a ways from their 24-7 record last season and are now at 1-6.
Roosevelt won a match that couldn't have been any closer in their previous meeting back in January, slipping by Bard 78-77. Does Roosevelt have another victory up their sleeve, or will Bard turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
