With a playoff win on the line, New Palestine rose to the challenge on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Indian Creek Braves as they made off with a 10-0 win. The Dragons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by six runs or more this season.
Kingston Hedges was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Kamp, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two RBI and one double.
New Palestine always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .586. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Indian Creek only posted an OBP of .238.
The victory was the eighth in a row for New Palestine, bringing their record up to 22-3. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Indian Creek, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-10 record this season.
