Cocoa has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against The Rockledge Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cocoa will be strutting in after a victory while Rockledge will be coming in after a loss.
Cocoa can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. They breezed by Palm Bay at home to the tune of 49-14. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-7.
Cocoa's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Latrison Lane, who rushed for 122 yards and three touchdowns. Lane is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played. Dj Bryant also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought match, but Rockledge had to settle for a 20-17 loss against Eau Gallie on Friday.
Cocoa's win was their 11th straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 8-1. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 37.73 points. As for Rockledge, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.
Cocoa was able to grind out a solid victory over Rockledge in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, winning 28-20. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cocoa since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
