The Brooklyn Hurricanes scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They put the hurt on Beachwood with a sharp 60-35 victory. The win made it back-to-back wins for Brooklyn.
Ashlyn Dyson was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 45 points and 15 rebounds. That makes it eight consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Brooklyn's points. Natalie Nieves was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five steals.
Despite the loss, Beachwood still got an impressive performance from Goldi Aschkenasy, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and four blocks. Another player making a difference was Marley Readance, who scored seven points along with seven assists and two steals.
Speaking of assists, Beachwood were working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Brooklyn only posted five assists.
Brooklyn's win ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-13. As for Beachwood, they dropped their record down to 4-11 with that loss, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Lutheran West the next time they take the court. Beachwood will head out to face Lutheran West at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, while Brooklyn will head out to face them at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
