Gracie Coleman and Ava Gradick did most of the damage at the plate: Coleman scored two runs while going 2-for-4, while Gradick scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Coleman a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Emily Coates, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.
Mary G. Montgomery was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .452. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Baker, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They never let Robertsdale get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory on Tuesday. The Hornets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by six runs or more this season.
Katlyn Cone was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI.
In other batting news, Baker let Kristina Lapeyrouse and Lauren Mordecai run wild. Lapeyrouse scored a run while going 2-for-3, while Mordecai scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Savannah Diehl, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Baker has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Mary G. Montgomery, their victory bumped their record up to 7-11.
