Baseball Recap: Falls City Wins Going Away Against La Pryor

Falls City got themselves on the board against La Pryor on Tuesday, but La Pryor never followed suit. They put the hurt on the La Pryor Bulldogs with a sharp 10-0 win. Considering the Beavers have won six contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Luke Morawietz was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. Morawietz was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kain Jurgajtis, who scored two runs and stole Four bases. while going 1-for-2. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Tyler Pawelek also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.

Falls City pushed their record up to 7-7 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 11 hits in those games compared to only 3.91 in the others. As for La Pryor, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Falls City will venture away from home to square off against Knippa at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Falls City is facing Knippa at the right time seeing as Knippa is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for La Pryor, they will head out to face off against Brackett at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
