Basketball Recap: Troup County Extends Winning Streak to Two

Troup County won the last time they faced Trinity Christian, and Jalen Brown did his part to make sure it happened again. The Troup County Tigers came out on top against the Trinity Christian Lions by a score of 85-75 on Thursday thanks in part to Brown, who went 12 for 15 on his way to 26 points and six rebounds. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played.

Another player making a difference was DE'JAYLEN CAMPBELL, who went 6 of 10 en route to 14 points and three steals. That's the most points he has posted since back in December of 2024.

Loss or not, Trinity Christian got some senior leadership from Mark Hayden and Cameron Wallace. Hayden went 8 for 12 on his way to 20 points, while Wallace went 6 of 15 en route to 15 points and three steals. Those 20 points set a new season-high mark for Hayden. Carson Hart was another key player, putting up 13 points and six boards.

The win made it two in a row for Troup County and bumps their season record up to 13-6. As for Trinity Christian, their defeat was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-18.

Troup County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, an 83-65 loss against Sandy Creek on the 4th. As for Trinity Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 77-54 victory against Mary Persons on the 31st.
