Northeast Vernon County and Bronaugh are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2017, but not for long. The Northeast Vernon County Knights will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Bronaugh Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. The timing is sure in Northeast Vernon County's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Bronaugh has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road.
Northeast Vernon County scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They strolled past Humansville with points to spare, taking the game 60-42.
Meanwhile, Bronaugh humbled Miami with a 50-23 victory. The victory was just what Bronaugh needed coming off of a 60-32 defeat in their prior match.
Bronaugh found their leader in underclassman Jada Brundridge, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds. Brundridge hasn't dropped below three steals for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Gretchen Banes, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 15 rebounds.
Northeast Vernon County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season. As for Bronaugh, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-18.
Everything went Northeast Vernon County's way against Bronaugh in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 as Northeast Vernon County made off with a 53-28 win.
