After flying high against the Dominion Christian Eagles last Monday, Christ Chapel Academy came back down to earth. Christ Chapel Academy fell 67-56 to Immanuel Christian on Friday. Christ Chapel Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Immanuel Christian apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.
Christ Chapel Academy's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of David Neaves, who scored 27 points along with six rebounds and three steals, and Sean Michael Robinson who scored 15 points along with two steals. It was the first time this season that Robinson scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Alie Bangura, who scored three points along with three blocks and two steals.
Immanuel Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Gus Jackson out in front who went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points and 1 assist. Jackson continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Choat, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and three blocks.
Christ Chapel Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Immanuel Christian, their win bumped their record up to 9-7.
Christ Chapel Academy will head out on the road to square off against Seton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Seton is coming into the contest with five straight wins at home, so Christ Chapel Academy is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum. Immanuel Christian will take on Virginia Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Virginia Academy is coming into the match with three straight losses on the road, meaning Immanuel Christian will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory.
