Leesburg smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in eight consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter and that's exactly how it played out for Springstead on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Vanguard as they made off with a 57-37 win. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 games by 20 points or more this season.
Springstead's win came from a few key players that Leesburg will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Michelle Ramirez-Hoyos, who went 5-for-10 on her way to 18 points and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Addisson Osborne, who shot 78% from the field to rack up 17 points and three steals.
Leesburg's record now sits at 11-8. As for Springstead, their record is now 21-5.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Leesburg has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 27.3 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Springstead struggles in that department as they've been averaging 31.6 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Leesburg lost to Springstead on the road by a decisive 46-32 margin when the teams last played back in December of 2025. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Eagles' Briana Coleman, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Now that the Yellow Jackets know the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
