With a playoff game on the line, the Boyd Anderson Cobras rose to the challenge on Monday. They put the hurt on the Bengals with a sharp 51-31 win. Given Boyd Anderson's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 201st, while Piper is ranked 454th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Boyd Anderson to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nick Florea, who scored 14 points. Jaydan Silvera was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with eight rebounds.
The win makes it two in a row for Boyd Anderson and bumps their season record up to 11-12. As for Piper, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-17 record this season.
Boyd Anderson won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Plantation at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th. Hopefully Boyd Anderson focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Monday. Piper does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
