New Mexico School for the Deaf extended the longest winning streak in 6-Man District 2 (6 Man) this week by beating Colorado School for the Deaf & Blind, 64-13. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
New Mexico School for the Deaf's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Julio Ruiz threw for 117 and four touchdowns and Tyrel Wilding had 87 yards receiving. On the ground Andrick Carroll chipped in 85 yards. Zachary Lee helped New Mexico School for the Deaf's passing attack out by catching two balls for 24 yards.
New Mexico School for the Deaf's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Roadrunners feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Ruiz has thrown for 333 yards and nine touchdowns this season, while Lee has 10 catches for 218 yards. Immanuel Neubauer leads the league in rushing with 233 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Hondo and Vaughn. The Eagles comes into the matchup ranked 12th in the state, while the Eagles ranks 18th.
Robert Huizar's team led 6-Man District 2 (6 Man) in scoring this week after putting up 64 points on the Bulldogs. Ruiz in the win.
