While high school football fans will flock to the showdown between St. Thomas Aquinas (Fla.) and Byrnes (S.C.) to watch the top two teams in the country, college fans will be paying close attention to the plethora of college recruits roaming the field in what should be one of the biggest collections of talent on a single field in recent years.
One season after Aquinas graduated 11 players who signed letters of intent to Division I schools on National Signing Day, the Raiders are once again well stocked with talent. The team received an additional boost in the offseason when star cornerback Lamarcus Joyner transferred to Aquinas from Miami Southwest.
Byrnes has a talent-laden senior class that is very experienced on the varsity level and has long been on the radar of colleges. Led by Marcus Lattimore, MaxPreps' National Junior of the Year in 2008, the Rebels have a number of players who will be difference-makers at the next level.
Here are the top 10 recruits in Friday’s game, and where they are likely to play at the next level.
1. Marcus Lattimore, RB, Byrnes
In a crowded field of future college players, Lattimore stands out as the biggest playmaker in the game. As a junior, he rushed for 2,314 yards and scored 30 touchdowns. He essentially has his pick of schools, but odds are that he stays close to home.

2. Lamarcus Joyner, CB, St. Thomas Aquinas
As if the Raiders' secondary were bereft of talent, Lamarcus Joyner joined an already-superb defensive squad over the summer and has quickly made an impact. He is coveted by schools around the country but appears to have narrowed his choice to Florida State or Ohio State.
Lamarcus Joyner may be a future Ohio State Buckeye.

Still, National Signing Day is a long way off, and a lot can happen in that time.

3. Corey Miller, DE, Byrnes
The 6-foot-5, 220-pound Miller is any quarterback's nightmare. He has a massive frame but is still extremely quick and explosive off the outside. He originally committed to Florida State, but recently switched his pledge to Tennessee. He seems to feel comfortable with Lane Kiffin and his staff, but another audible is not out of the question.

4. Brandon Willis, DE, Byrnes
The other half of the nation's top defensive-end duo, Willis recorded 140 tackles and 13 sacks last season. He's got a thicker frame than Willis, and may play on the interior line in college. He joined Miller in committing to Tennessee, and is likely to honor that choice. However, if Lattimore ends up somewhere besides South Carolina, don't be totally shocked if he takes a teammate or two with him.

5. Cody Riggs, CB, St. Thomas Aquinas
Riggs has been overshadowed a bit since the arrival of Joyner, but he's almost equally talented. He has recorded six tackles out of the cornerback spot, and nabbed an interception against Cardinal Gibbons last week. The Gators appear to be the team to beat for Riggs, but Notre Dame, which has landed Raiders recruits in the past, is hot after his services. His older brother, Gerald Riggs Jr., starred at Tennessee, and it's hard to count out Tennessee in any recruiting battle.

6. Gio Bernard, RB, St. Thomas Aquinas
One of southern Florida's top running backs, Bernard was an all-state selection as a junior. He also contributed on varsity as a sophomore, an impressive feat itself. Like a number of other recruits on both teams, Florida State is a serious player for Bernard, and many think he'll end up a 'Nole. His older brother played at Oregon State, however, so there's an outside chance Bernard leaves the Southeast.

7. Brandon Linder, OL, St. Thomas Aquinas
Linder is the star of an Aquinas offensive line that has steamrolled defensive lines this season. He has been a difference-maker for the Raiders since his sophomore season. His recruitment has also gone effortlessly, as he has narrowed down his choices and hopes to make a decision soon. However, he doesn't have a clear leader, and he would be a great fit at a number of schools.

8. Brian Robinson, ATH, St. Thomas Aquinas
While Joyner and Riggs are shutdown corners, Robinson is a hard-hitting safety who can also play receiver on offense. Robinson's recruitment has been hard to read. His father played at Auburn, but he seems more interested in Alabama. Florida schools are also in pursuit, but Robinson may be interested in leaving the Sunshine State. West Virginia, which has had success recruiting Florida in recent years, could become a player.

Rutgers-commit Chas Dodd is having a monster year.

9. James White, RB, St. Thomas Aquinas
White has been a major contributor to the Raiders' offense over the past two seasons. In 2008, the speedster notched 993 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns. There's a contingent of folks that think he may be even more talented than Gio Bernard. With all the talent around the state, it's likely that White leaves Florida to make a name for himself at running back. Iowa looks to be leading for his services, though USF may convince him to stay local.

10. Chas Dodd, QB, Byrnes
In five games, Dodd has thrown for 17 touchdowns to lead a Byrnes offense that is as potent as any team's in the country. His dominant start has made him a contender for MaxPreps National Player of the Year. Dodd committed to Rutgers over the summer, and seems pretty firm on his stance. However, if his stock continues to rise as he torches defenses, more schools may jump into the mix.
