CHASE extended their winning streak (dating back to last season) to five on Tuesday, bumping them up to 4-0. They walked away with an 8-4 win over the Bloomfield Christian School Defenders. This was payback for the Conquerors, who suffered a 10-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Judah Mason made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Mason was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Mason is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.
In other pitching news, Konnor Kern looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
Back at the plate, Caleb Niswonger was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Nate Niswonger, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
CHASE hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters every time they've taken the field this season.
As for Bloomfield Christian School, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-4. Defenders fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against CHASE since Tuesday.
On Bloomfield Christian School's side, Charles Busch and Liam Landis stepped up to the plate in a big way. Busch went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI, while Landis went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
CHASE will venture away from home to take on Fort Wayne Crusaders at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Bloomfield Christian School, they will host FAITH HomeSchool at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
