Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Kinder Yellowjackets, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They took a 28-22 hit to the loss column at the hands of Avoyelles. Kinder was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Avoyelles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2020.
Avoyelles' win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Zayden Williams, who rushed for 113 yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Decareyn Sampson, who rushed for 78 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries.
Kinder's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Avoyelles, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-7.
Kinder does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Avoyelles will be playing in front of their home fans against Pine at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
