The Hamlin Pied Pipers managed to keep up with the Munday Moguls until halftime on Thursday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Hamlin suffered a tough 61-40 loss at the hands of Munday. Hamlin was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Munday apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2016.
Ian Gruben and AJ Rivera certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Gruben scored 13 points, while Rivera scored 11 points. Gruben continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.
Hamlin has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. As for Munday, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
Hamlin will square off against Abilene Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Abilene Christian is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak. As for Munday, they will face off against Woodson at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Woodson presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Munday in Texas (Woodson is ranked 258th, while Munday is ranked 811th).
