The Lafayette Generals''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 41-27 bruising from East Jessamine.
Despite the loss, Lafayette still got an impressive performance from Ransom Payton, who threw for 115 yards and two touchdowns on only ten passes.
Leading East Jessamine to victory were Derek Morton and Dontae Morton. Morton rushed for 83 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries, while Morton rushed for 133 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.4 yards per carry.
Lafayette's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for East Jessamine, their win bumped their record up to an identical 2-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lafayette will take on Bryan Station at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Bryan Station presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Lafayette in Kentucky (Bryan Station is ranked 13th, while Lafayette is ranked 147th). As for East Jessamine, they will head out on the road to face off against Southwestern at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Southwestern will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
