Cocalico might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 3-1 to Manheim Central, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Barons: they've now lost nine in a row.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Exeter Township, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Governor Mifflin on Wednesday, sneaking past 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted since May 17, 2025.
Mason Goodhart spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits.
On the hitting side, Jake Hafer was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one triple and one stolen base.
Exeter Township pushed their record up to 11-4 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Cocalico, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-10.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Cocalico has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Exeter Township struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
