Gilbert is 0-6 against Queen Creek since March of 2016 but things could change on Tuesday. The Tigers will venture away from home to square off against the Bulldogs at 3:45 p.m. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Gilbert sitting on three straight wins and Queen Creek on five.
Gilbert is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Williams Field on Thursday as they made off with a 20-2 victory. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Tigers with their most commanding win of the season.
Tyler Gordanier was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Gordanier was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Hayley Joiner was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with six RBI, two runs, and one double. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Arianna Leon was another key player, scoring four runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Gilbert was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .647. They are 6-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, while Queen Creek put up some runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Highland. The Bulldogs came out on top against the Hawks by a score of 5-0.
Not much got past Aubrey Chavez, who gave up just two hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Highland off the board. Chavez has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Alessia Velazquez, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as she's now launched at least one in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayla Porter, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.
Queen Creek pushed their record up to 14-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Gilbert, their record is now 7-8.
Tuesday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Gilbert has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .489. However, it's not like Queen Creek struggles in that department as they've averaged .450. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Gilbert came up short against Queen Creek when the teams last played back in April of 2024, falling 4-0. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
