After flying high against the Walker-Hackensack-Akeley Wolves last Thursday, the Red Lake Warriors came back down to earth. Red Lake took a serious blow against Nevis on Tuesday, falling 82-45. Red Lake has not had much luck with Nevis recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Despite the loss, Red Lake still got an impressive performance from Gerald Kingbird jr, who scored 18 points. Kingbird jr scored a full 40% of Red Lake's points, the ninth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Dave Dudley Jr, who scored four points along with five rebounds.
Red Lake's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-3. As for Nevis, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.
Red Lake will head out on the road to face off against Laporte at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Laporte is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Nevis, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Kelliher/Northome at 7:15 p.m. Kelliher/Northome will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Minnesota Rankings (they are ranked 408th, while Nevis is ranked 31st).
