After flying high against the Reagan Bison on Wednesday, the Sunset Knights came back down to earth. Sunset had to suffer through a rough 61-33 loss at the hands of Coral Reef. Sunset has not had much luck with Coral Reef recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite the loss, Sunset still got an impressive performance from Bianca Pancheco, who scored 15 points along with 6 assists and 6 rebounds. Pancheco scored a full 45.5% of Sunset's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Alyssa Torrech was another key contributor, scoring 9 points along with 4 steals.
Sunset now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Coral Reef, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
Sunset will play host again and welcome Braddock, where tip off is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Coral Reef, they will head out on the road to face off against Miami at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Miami presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Coral Reef in Florida (Miami is ranked 64th, while Coral Reef is ranked 310th).
