State College proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 17) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Mechanicsburg Wildcats. The victory was familiar territory for the Little Lions, who have now won four matchups in a row.

State College saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jessica Hawbaker, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

State College's win bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Mechanicsburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. State College will face off against Williamsport at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Mechanicsburg, they will take on Mifflin County at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
