Basketball Recap: Families Instructing Students Homeschool Extends Home Winning Streak to Five

Families Instructing Students HomeSchool extended their home winning streak to five games dating back to last season thanks to a huge performance from Melody Lee. The Families Instructing Students HomeSchool Hawks breezed by the Winter Haven Christian Warriors to the tune of 43-12 on Tuesday thanks in part to Lee, who posted ten points and five steals. That's the most steals she has posted since back in February.

The team also got some help courtesy of Makayla Calzada, who put up two points along with five rebounds and three steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played.

Families Instructing Students HomeSchool has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 20.3 points per game. As for Winter Haven Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

The future could be bright for both Families Instructing Students HomeSchool and Winter Haven Christian: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Families Instructing Students HomeSchool will try to hand Out-of-Door Academy their sixth-straight defeat when the two meet at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Winter Haven Christian will try to hand All Saints' Academy their sixth-straight loss when the two meet at 6:00 p.m. on January 9, 2025.
