In other batting news, Pymatuning Valley got a massive performance out of McKenna Jordan, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and two doubles. Those five RBI gave Jordan a new career-high. Kylie Luke also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Pymatuning Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Harding only posted an OBP of .263.
Meanwhile, Grand Valley scored first but ultimately less than Badger in their game on Wednesday. They took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Braves. The defeat continues a trend for the Mustangs in their meetings with the Braves: they've now lost three in a row.
Breanna Rowland was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jenna Poyer, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
The win made it two in a row for Pymatuning Valley and bumps their season record up to 9-3-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Grand Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.
Grand Valley's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Pymatuning Valley has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.2 hits per game. It's a different story for Grand Valley, though, as they've been averaging 9.7 hits. Given Pymatuning Valley's sizable advantage in that area, the Mustangs will need to find a way to close that gap.
