Even though the Culver Academies Eagles have not done well against the Plymouth Pilgrims/Rockies recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Culver Academies came out on top in a nail-biter against Plymouth and snuck past 49-47. The win was familiar territory for Culver Academies who now have six in a row.
Culver Academies found their leader in underclassman Kayla Herron, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Another player making a difference was Reid Seddelmeyer, who scored eight points.
Several Pilgrims/Rockies players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Alana Allen, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds. Rylee Mann was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Culver Academies' win bumped their record up to 13-7. As for Plymouth, their loss dropped their record down to 10-10.
Culver Academies will be playing at home against Marquette Catholic at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Marquette Catholic's defense has only allowed 29.4 points per game this season, so Culver Academies' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Plymouth, they will head out on the road to take on Northridge at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Northridge will be looking to keep their 12-game home win streak alive.
