With a playoff game on the line, the Terry Sanford Bulldogs rose to the challenge on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 43-22 margin over Harnett Central. Terry Sanford might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won six matches by 21 points or more this season.
Among those leading the charge was Kamal Thames, who picked up 129 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Izaiah Williams made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Harnett Central to a paltry 193 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Terry Sanford's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid the passer out nine times before it was all said and done. The heavy lifting was done by Troy Shannon and Tucker Hayes who racked up 6.5 sacks between them.
Terry Sanford is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. As for Harnett Central, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.
Terry Sanford is on the road again on Friday and play against Southern Alamance at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. Southern Alamance is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last ten games. Harnett Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
