The Matawan Regional Huskies the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Keyport Raiders at 5:15 p.m. on January 19th. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around on Friday.
Matawan Regional suffered their biggest loss since December 19, 2023 last Thursday. They were beaten by Wall Township 58-27. While losing is never fun, Matawan Regional can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 295th, while Wall Township is ranked 42nd).
Meanwhile, Keyport unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They were outmatched by Shore Regional at home and fell 58-21.
Matawan Regional's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Keyport, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.
