On Tuesday, the Wade Hampton Generals faced the Riverside Warriors in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Wade Hampton walked away with a 68-61 win over Riverside. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite the defeat, Riverside saw an underclassman step up: Kyndal Haroski scored 26 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Garrido, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds and five assists.
Wade Hampton is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. As for Riverside, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wade Hampton will challenge Eastside at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Wade Hampton will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Eastside surely won't give up without a fight. As for Riverside, they will head out on the road to challenge Greer at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Riverside knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven matchups -- so hopefully Greer likes a good challenge.
