Basketball Recap: Hialeah Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

While Hialeah didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against the American Patriots by a score of 41-31 on Friday. The victory was familiar territory for the Thoroughbreds who have now won three games in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hialeah to victory, but perhaps none more so than Zariah Louissaint, who posted 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nyla Hayes, who earned 11 points.

Several Patriots players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lajahnique Olive, who had 12 points. Another player making a difference was Allison Pena, who put up eight points in addition to eight boards and six blocks.

Hialeah's record now sits at 4-1. As for American, they moved to 4-1 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Hialeah didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 51-15 win against Dr. Krop on the 17th. As for American, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Jackson at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
