The Interlake Saints and the Sammamish RedHawks will compete for holiday cheer at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Interlake is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.7 points per game this season.
While Interlake didn't have the best season last year (they finished 4-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They breezed by Evergreen to the tune of 60-22 on Wednesday. The Saints have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 20 points or more this season.

Tiffany Shaw and Harper Moore were among the main playmakers for Interlake as the former went 8 of 14 en route to 16 points along with six boards and six steals and the latter went 8 of 20 on her way to 17 points along with five assists and three steals. Moore is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Quinn Price, who posted seven points and seven steals.
They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Interlake was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Sammamish lost to North Creek on the road by a 59-44 margin on Wednesday. The RedHawks haven't had much luck with the Jaguars recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Interlake will need focus on slowing down Tezi Lyons, one of several Sammamish players who made an impact when they last played. She went 8 of 13 on her way to 22 points in addition to eight boards and five steals. Those 22 points gave Lyons a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Eastman, who put up 15 points.
Sammamish's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Interlake, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Interlake has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 27.7 boards per game. However, it's not like Sammamish struggles in that department as they've been averaging 32.2 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Interlake beat Sammamish 48-41 when the teams last played back in January. Will Interlake repeat their success, or does Sammamish have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
