The Kingston Tigers will challenge the Monroe-Woodbury Crusaders at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Kingston is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.
On Thursday, Kingston made easy work of Red Hook and carried off a 12-4 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

Isabella Turzik was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Abigail Crantz was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Kendyl Short, who went 2-for-4 with one triple and one RBI.
Kingston kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, it may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Monroe-Woodbury ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Minisink Valley, sneaking past 8-7. Surprisingly, this marked the sixth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor in this series.
Like Kingston, Monroe-Woodbury also got a great game from a two-way player: Isabella Brelesky. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over ten innings while giving up just two earned (and five unearned) runs off eight hits. Brelesky was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Callie Exarchakis, who fired off two home runs, six RBI, and one double while going 4-for-5. Those home runs were her first of the season.
Monroe-Woodbury now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Kingston, their win bumped their record up to 9-7-1.
Monroe-Woodbury's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Kingston has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .436. It's a different story for Monroe-Woodbury, though, as they've only averaged .293. Will they be able to contain Kingston's hitters?
