After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Trinity Christian Academy, the Taylor Wildcats were happy to have found some success on Friday. They had just enough and edged Meadowbrook Academy out 67-64. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Leading Taylor to victory were Dylan Jackson and James Thomas. Jackson scored 15 points, while Thomas scored 17 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Thomas has scored at least 25% of Taylor's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Preston Kelly, who scored 6 points.
Taylor now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Meadowbrook Academy, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Taylor will be playing at home against Ocala Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Ocala Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Thursday. As for Meadowbrook Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Countryside Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
