Last Friday, everything came up roses for Community Baptist Christian on the road against Colonial Christian as the squad secured a 71-37 victory. Community Baptist Christian pushed the score to 61-30 by the end of the third, a deficit Colonial Christian had no chance of recovering from.
It was another big night for Clifton, who dropped a triple-double on 22 points, 13 rebounds, and ten assists. It was the first time this season that he pulled down eight or more rebounds. Layne Cook was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with two steals.
Even though Suburban Christian has not done well against Heartland Christian recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Suburban Christian skirted past Heartland Christian 43-41. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Suburban Christian.
Community Baptist Christian's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.0 points per game. As for Suburban Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 9-7 record this season.
Community Baptist Christian beat Suburban Christian 68-56 in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Community Baptist Christian since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
