Softball Recap: The Villages Charter Wins Going Away Against Tavares

The Villages Charter made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Tavares, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Villages Charter was the clear victor by a 10-1 margin over Tavares on Tuesday. The Buffalo might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by six runs or more this season.

The Villages Charter let Alexis Swetnam and Lexy Sanchez run wild. Swetnam went 2-for-4 with three runs and one triple, while Sanchez scored a run and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits Sanchez has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Foley, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

They weren't the only ones working in the hit department: The Villages Charter kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.3 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 9.2.

The Villages Charter pushed their record up to 7-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Tavares, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-3.
