Trimble County made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Cornerstone Christian Academy, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Trimble County put the hurt on Cornerstone Christian Academy with a sharp 14-5 victory on Monday. The Raiders' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Jacoby Clark and Nolan Hunt made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Clark tossed two innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run but no hits. Meanwhile, Hunt tossed two innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. At bat, Clark scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3, while Hunt scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. That's the most hits Clark has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Dylan Penick was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Liam Taylor was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-4.
Trimble County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .595. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Henry County is still winless after their contest against Mercer County on Monday, but the team can take solace in the fact it was the closest they've come to winning. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Titans. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Wildcats have suffered since April 5, 2024.
Trimble County's record now sits at 2-3. As for Henry County, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.
Trimble County came up short against Henry County in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, falling 3-0. Can Trimble County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
