Basketball Recap: Sequoia Pathfinder Verrado Way Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Victory

Sequoia Pathfinder Verrado Way had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32.5 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Saturday. They rang in the new year with a 62-55 win over the East Valley Athletes for Christ Eagles. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Sequoia Pathfinder Verrado Way also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2024.

East Valley Athletes for Christ lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Ian Porter, who posted eight points and eight rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Porter a new career-high in assists (two). Another player making a difference was Landen Marker, who put up nine points.

Sequoia Pathfinder Verrado Way's victory bumped their record up to 12-1. As for East Valley Athletes for Christ, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-2.

Sequoia Pathfinder Verrado Way wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 74-52 win against Premier Prep- PHHoenix on the 5th. East Valley Athletes for Christ has also already played their next match, a 56-18 victory against Maya on the 5th.
