The San Carlos Braves will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against the Bisbee Pumas at 7:00 p.m. on December 4th. Hopefully San Carlos focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, San Carlos sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 57-54 win over Willcox. With that win, San Carlos brought their scoring average up to 50.3 points per game.
San Carlos' success was spearheaded by the efforts of Leandro Simbolo, who scored 21 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals, and Leshawn Browning, who scored 20 points along with 7 rebounds and 6 assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which Simbolo has scored at least 25% of San Carlos' points. The team also got some help courtesy of David Dude III, who scored 8 points along with 7 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Bisbee lost to The Gregory School at home by a decisive 62-46 margin on Wednesday. It was the first time this season that Bisbee let down their fans at home.
San Carlos' win bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Bisbee, they bumped their record down to 4-2 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home.
San Carlos came up short against Bisbee when the teams last played back in December of 2022, falling 73-60. Can San Carlos avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
