North Forsyth (Cumming, Ga.) fell 28-7 to
West Forsyth (Cumming, Ga.).
After taking the lead on a
Trevor O'brien touchdown run in the second quarter, the Wolverines led 7-0 at the half.
West Forsyth grew its lead to 14 points entering the fourth quarter. WF scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown pass by
Hampton Mcconnell to
Nathan Schmitz.
North Forsyth's lone touchdown came on a 2-yard run by
Cody Gottberg in the third quarter.
The Wolverines came in allowing an average of 29.3 points per game this season. West Forsyth held firm on the defensive front, and kept the Raiders well below the 23.2 points it had been averaging per game.
The loss was the third in a row for North Forsyth. With the win WF extended its winning streak to three games.
West Forsyth (5-2) will play a AAAAAA Region 6 game against Chattahoochee next week, while North Forsyth (4-3) will take on Centennial also in a AAAAAA Region 6 game.
