Southeast of Saline posted their closest victory since September 2nd on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Republic County Buffaloes 2-1. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Trojans as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Southeast of Saline who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 25-18, 19-25, 25-14.

Ava Thumann and Grae Siemsen certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Thumann had 15 digs and one assist, while Siemsen had ten digs and one assist.

Southeast of Saline's win bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Republic County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southeast of Saline will venture away from home to face off against Concordia at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Republic County, they will head out to challenge Chapman on Saturday. The last three games the Irish have played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
