The Burbank Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 74-73 to Burroughs. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Tuesday (68), Burbank still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, Burbank still got an impressive performance from Odartey Blankson, who dropped a double-double on 35 points and 15 rebounds. Blankson hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. Kevin Dehbashian was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with three steals.
Burroughs' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Landon Everhart led the charge by dropping a double-double on 24 points and 12 rebounds. Everhart continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Kardosh, who scored 27 points along with two steals.
Burbank has not been sharp recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-17 record this season. As for Burroughs, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-9.
Burbank will be playing in front of their home fans against Glendale at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Glendale presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Burbank in California (Glendale is ranked 369th, while Burbank is ranked 883rd). As for Burroughs, they will head out on the road to take on Arcadia at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Arcadia has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 198 points over their last three contests.
